Be Careful of Work from Home Scams

by Carlie Evie

Have you just found a great work at home opportunity? These days, many people are looking for the very same thing. It's a great option when you can get it. It lets single parents stay home to take care of their kids, and it lets people get a little extra cash so they can buy gifts for the holidays. However, you should really check to make sure that your opportunity is legitimate, and not another one of the work from home scams.

Yes, people will find a way to try and steal your money no matter what. They don't care a bit about you, your family, or whether or not you need that money. What they care about is getting your money, and they'll keep doing it. Your opportunity needs investigating. You want to make sure that it's not just another scam that puts even more money into the hands of some lazy and unscrupulous man or woman. To avoid falling for both the older and newest work from home scams, here are some helpful tips:

- Don't believe anyone who says you will be able to earn a ton of money from home. Usually, these will say something like, 'Earn $10,000 a month from home for doing nothing.' It doesn't matter how convincing they sound; they're still rip-offs. You can earn money from home, but it takes work just like other jobs.

- Do your best to get some references. Get some opinions from people who took up the offer. Learn from them whether or not it works, and if they're satisfied.

- Be aware of companies who are simply sending you materials for your money and you are required to find your own customers.

- 'Envelope stuffing schemes'-- forget about them. It is one of the oldest work from home scams there is. They simply send you instructions for your money, telling you how to place an ad in order to take other people's money.

Most importantly, avoid these work from home scams by using your common sense. Don't believe a company that doesn't allow you to speak with a person, or doesn't give out a real phone number or address. Learn the truth about scams and safeguard yourself. Don't send these scammers your hard earned money.
